PEPPERS USED IN TEX'S BEST SALSA

Ghost Peppers

Ghost Pepper

  • The Ghost pepper is one of the hottest in the world, ranking around 15th.  The Scoville Heat Units (SHU) with the Ghost is  855,000 – 1,041,427.
  • This is the hottest that we make so far, just hot enough to get your attention but not so hot you can't eat it.

Habanero Pepper

Habanero Pepper

  • The Habanero pepper is another one of the hottest peppers in the world, ranked around 30th.  The Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) with the Habanero is 100,000 - 350,000.
  • This is next in line for the Hot salsa here at Tex's Best Salsa.  The Habanero Hot is still a hot one but not as hot as the Ghost.
  • A measured blend of Habanero and Jalapeno peppers which gives this blend a fruity taste with a delayed heat.

Jalapeno Pepper

Jalapeno Pepper

  • The Jalapeno pepper is a hot pepper but nothing like the Habanero or Ghost.  This pepper has a range in Scoville Heat Units of 2500 - 8000.
  • Thus with this pepper we are able to bring a Mild and a Medium to the table.
  • The Mild Blend has a small amount of Jalapeno pepper so there is a lil heat but not enough to really bite, this one is best eaten by people that can't take heat and small children.
  • The Medium Blend is a bit hotter with double the amount of Jalapeno pepper than the Mild Blend, this one is intended to bite just enough to know you are eating a good salsa.
  • The Medium Blend is one of our best sellers, just thinking that most people are in this range.
  • The Medium Cilantro is the same as Medium for heat level, only difference is fresh Cilantro is thrown into the mx which gives a more refreshing flavor, for those Cilantro lovers.
